South West England includes the area known as the West Country and historical Wessex. The larger settlements include Bristol, Swindon, Bournemouth, Exeter, Gloucester, Plymouth and Poole. Cornwall is a popular destination in the summer, particularly for surfing in Newquay, pretty villages such as St. Ives and Polperro and its famous pasty. Devon also has a lovely coastline, Dartmoor and Exmoor and offers delicious cream teas.
